Situated in a little garden, tucked away from the busy hustle and bustle of the city, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Very comfortable and romantic ambiance. Attentive and friendly staff, fast service. We had the Issaya Tasting menu. The amuse bouche was unfortunately the highlight of the meal. All further dishes (appetizer and mains) were very nicely arranged and presented. However, we found that the taste lacked complexity and depth, but at the same time spices were overpowering. The most prominent flavor was always sweet. Both mains, chicken and lamb also lacked different textures. So all in all a nice place, but we weren’t blown away by the food, given it is quite an expensive restaurant. We ended up paying 6200TBH (172Eur) for two.
Returned to Chef Ian's flagship restaurant for the third time and the experience was as good as the first. The service was attentive and prompt. The food came quickly and refills and repeats were prioritized. Overall an unmissable experience
I had dinner with my wife at Issaya for New Year’s Eve, which featured a tasting menu priced at a staggering 9,392 THB (approximately €260). Unfortunately, the experience was entirely negative. I didn’t eat because I wasn’t feeling well. We agreed with the manager that my portion would be refunded. However, at the end of the dinner, he inexplicably changed his mind. Perhaps the manager doesn’t understand that keeping one’s word is crucial for the restaurant’s credibility. As for the dinner, my wife and I were both deeply disappointed. The service was absolutely subpar: the waitstaff was awkward, unable to speak English, and couldn’t explain the dishes. The food was borderline inedible, thrown onto the table as if we were in a cafeteria. We left before dessert because the entire experience was truly embarrassing. I strongly advise against this restaurant. There are far better options in Bangkok at much lower prices.
We'd spent time in various places in Thailand, trying local cuisine, and decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant with stellar reviews. We were not disappointed. The more we learned about Issaya Siamese Club, and its founding Chef, Ian Kittichai's success on the international scene, the luckier we felt that we could get a reservation on such short notice. We ordered the smaller of the two tasting menus (THB 1,900/person) and it was plenty of food! Almost immediately we were served a gorgeous amuse bouche of smoked oysters, followed by delicious spicy rubbed baby back ribs, a hearts of palm salad with banana blossoms, followed by a the chef's salmon-variation on Pad Thai, a dramatic and tasty flambeed chicken, Massaman curry-style lamb shank, and then prawns, followed by a grain-dish, flavored with garlic and mushrooms. All the dishes were beautifully plated, satisfying all the senses. If these dishes weren't filling enough, all were followed by a jasmine creme brulee with jasmine ice cream. And if THAT wasn't enough, Chef generously treated us to the "broken basket" dessert, which was amazing--I only wish I had been warned so I could video the presentation, which was dramatic! During the meal, we were greeted warmly by the manager Nikom and Executive Chef Deed (please forgive the spelling!), who shared their excitement at the venture and the food. I cannot recommend this place more highly. If I have any comments that aren't 100% positive, I would suggest they do more with bringing the dining area into the garden, which is sort of off to the side and underutilized.
