I loved this restaurant! Easily one of my favorites in Bangkok. Ordering from the menu was all digital so not having the app slash being able to read Thai made it a little tricky, but the workers were very accommodating and used their phone to place the order and guide us in what was listed in the menu. Here are my thoughts on the dishes I tried: 1. Chicken biryani - I enjoyed this dish but it wasn’t anything remarkable either. The chicken had flavor but the rice was simple. its a simple dish and a classic on the menu but you could probably skip it. 2. Chicken soup - this was spicy!!! I was not prepared at all haha. But I also fell in love with the soup once I learned to avoid the green peppers. It was extremely flavorful. 3. Panang curry noodles were exceptional. I think this was the best dish on the menu. The sauce was incredible and we first ordered it with glass noodles which I preferred to when we ordered it the second time with egg noodles. 4. The Tom yum soup was delicious in my opinion but family members thought it was average. I kept going back for more! 5. Chicken skewers - solid. Exactly what you’d expect and the peanut sauce was well done. 6. Mango sticky rice was average. The service was great and the restaurant was busy but had plenty of seating. And it was an extremely affordable meal. Worth the drive to the restaurant, we’d go back in a heartbeat.
A superb little Muslim restaurant on Rama 9 that is well worth the visit. Originally reputed for its mango & sticky rice, Ahmad Rotdee also serves up a chili chicken soup that will leave you with a life changing experience. The biryani is equally notable and it’s nice to see all of these dishes tied nicely into a single restaurant. Definitely worth the detour and definitely worth the repeat business time and time again.
