On Lok Yun

One of the best dishes I ate during this visit to Thailand. The bread served with egg custard cream is the best. Their tea is also delicious and warm. The restaurant space brings a comfortable feeling. I feel very satisfied with the experience here❤️

Come as early as 7am to avoid crowds. You'd still feel like having dinner in the old Chinatown setting. Basic over easy and coffee is good enough. To enjoy a little more, try to order the toast or Kaya with bread. It just goes well with old style coffee with condensed milk. Do the hot one, not iced! The owner guy has a great service mind too.

On Lok Yun is an institution in Bangkok and definitely a must-visit! We lucked out when we rocked up around 8.40am. While the place was already bustling, there was no queue and we serendipitously scored the table we wanted for the money shot, the one right in front of the antique counter. Service was brisk but friendly nevertheless. I was initially intimidated by the all day breakfast with toppings wondering if it would be too much but the owner assured me the portion is just right for one and he was not wrong! The photo only showed our first order. We had a second order of French Toast and Milo Toast. Everything was delicious and best of all, pocket friendly as well! On Lok Yun is the kind of place I would return again and again! A heritage coffeeshop that deserves to be celebrated and preserved!

They also serve other traditional items like kaya toast, condensed milk toast, and ham and eggs, all freshly made and reminiscent of homemade comfort food. Their iced coffee is amazing, providing a refreshing kick that pairs perfectly with the hearty breakfast. Despite the café’s popularity, which means you might have to wait for a table, the experience is well worth it. The friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the nostalgic atmosphere make it a standout spot for breakfast.
