Lac des Vaux is a charming little lake located just above Verbier, easily reached via a short, family-friendly hike. The lake sits in a grassy basin at around 2,200 meters, surrounded by gentle slopes and scattered boulders. It's a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike to unwind, have a picnic, or let children splash in the shallow edges (the water is chilly but inviting on warm days). The trail from Verbier takes about 45 minutes to an hour each way, making it a perfect half-day outing. The setting is peaceful, with views of the surrounding peaks and the valley below. In summer, wildflowers bloom along the path, and you might spot marmots or birds. The lake is also a popular starting point for longer hikes toward the Col de la Chaux.
