Lac de Tracouet is a beautiful mountain lake situated above the village of Nendaz, part of the Verbier ski area. The lake is easily accessed via the Tracouet cable car from Nendaz, which whisks visitors up to the lake's edge in about 10 minutes. At 2,200 meters, the lake is surrounded by grassy slopes and rocky outcrops, with the Rosablanche and other peaks in the distance. The area is a hub for summer hiking, with several trails radiating out, including a gentle loop around the lake and more challenging routes to nearby peaks. Families enjoy the easy walk and the lake's clear, turquoise water, while more adventurous hikers can explore the surrounding alpine terrain. There is a small restaurant at the cable car station, making it convenient for a meal with a view.
