Lac de Louvie is a stunning alpine lake nestled at the base of the Grand Combin massif, one of the most iconic peaks in the Swiss Alps. The lake sits at an elevation of about 2,200 meters, surrounded by rugged mountain scenery and wildflower-dotted meadows. Reaching the lake requires a moderate hike from Verbier, typically taking around 2-3 hours each way, offering sweeping views of the valley and glaciers along the trail. The water is a brilliant turquoise in summer, reflecting the surrounding peaks. Visitors often picnic by the shore, take photographs, or simply soak in the serene atmosphere. The area is less crowded than some other Verbier attractions, making it a peaceful escape into nature. The trail is well-marked but involves some elevation gain, so proper hiking gear is recommended.

Don't miss

  • Turquoise waters reflecting the Grand Combin
