Tourbillon Castle sits on a rocky hill opposite Valère, creating a dramatic silhouette against the sky. The castle is a ruin, but its walls and towers still stand, allowing visitors to explore the remains of the bishop's palace, chapel, and defensive structures. The climb up is steep but rewarding, with breathtaking views of Sion, the Rhone valley, and the Alps. Unlike Valère, Tourbillon is less visited, offering a peaceful, contemplative experience. The site is open-air, so dress for the weather. Interpretive panels explain the castle's history and layout.
