Gastern Valley

Gastern Valley (Gasterntal) is a pristine alpine valley located just south of Kandersteg, offering a tranquil retreat into nature. The valley is characterized by its lush green meadows, dense forests, and the crystal-clear Gastern River that winds through it. Hiking trails of varying difficulty traverse the valley, leading to viewpoints, waterfalls, and rustic mountain huts. One of the highlights is the Gastern Waterfall, a picturesque cascade that plunges into a turquoise pool. The valley is less crowded than other attractions in the region, providing a sense of solitude and connection with nature. In autumn, the larch forests turn golden, creating a stunning landscape.
