Blausee

Blausee is a tiny but mesmerizing lake located in a nature park near Kandersteg. Its name means 'Blue Lake', and it lives up to that with water so clear and blue that you can see the lake bed and fish swimming 10 meters below. The lake is fed by underground springs, keeping the water at a constant temperature and giving it that incredible color. The surrounding park is beautifully landscaped with walking paths, benches, and a small restaurant. A highlight is the trout farm, where you can see the fish in crystal-clear pools and even buy smoked trout. The atmosphere is serene and romantic, making it a popular stop for couples and families. Unlike larger alpine lakes, Blausee is compact and easily explored in under an hour, but its beauty lingers. The reflection of the surrounding trees in the still water creates a mirror-like effect, especially in the morning.
