Nissanka Latha Mandapaya is a distinctive stone pavilion within the Polonnaruwa quadrangle, built by King Nissanka Malla. Its most notable feature is the series of carved stone pillars shaped like lotus stalks and buds, supporting a now-missing roof. This structure was used for the recitation of Buddhist texts, with the king himself sometimes participating. Visitors can walk among the pillars and imagine the ceremonies that once took place here.
