El Castillo de Kafka is one of Sitges' most unusual landmarks, a private home designed to resemble a fairy-tale castle, complete with turrets, battlements, and colorful mosaics. Built in the early 20th century by a local artist and admirer of Franz Kafka, the structure blends Gothic, Moorish, and Modernist elements in a playful, dreamlike way. The exterior is a riot of ceramic tiles, stained glass, and sculpted details, with whimsical touches like dragon-shaped gargoyles and a tower that seems straight out of a storybook. Because it is a private residence, visitors can only admire it from the outside, but the facade alone is worth the trip. Located on a quiet street in the residential area of Sitges, it offers a unique photo opportunity and a glimpse into the eccentric artistic spirit of the town. The castle's name pays homage to Kafka's surreal and mysterious literary world, and the building itself feels like a page from one of his novels.
