The New Cathedral of Salamanca (Catedral Nueva) is a stunning example of Spanish Gothic architecture with later Baroque additions. Built between 1513 and 1733, it stands adjacent to the older cathedral and is one of the largest in Spain. Its exterior features a wealth of intricate carvings, including a famous astronaut added during a 1992 restoration. Inside, the soaring vaulted ceilings, ornate chapels, and a magnificent choir stall are highlights. The cathedral also houses a museum with religious art. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of the city. The blend of styles and the sheer scale make it a must-see.
