Bellver Castle sits on a hill overlooking Palma, its distinctive circular shape making it a rarity among European castles. Built in the 14th century for King James II of Mallorca, it served as a royal residence and later as a prison. Today, it houses the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat (City History Museum), which traces Palma's past from prehistoric times to the modern era. Visitors can walk around the circular courtyard, climb the towers for sweeping views of the city and the Bay of Palma, and explore the museum's exhibits. The castle's architecture, with its round keep and Gothic arches, is both impressive and photogenic. The surrounding pine forest is ideal for a relaxing stroll.
