Teatro Cervantes is Málaga's premier performing arts venue, located in the historic center. Built in 1870, the theater features a stunning horseshoe-shaped auditorium with red velvet seats and ornate plasterwork. The stage has hosted world-class opera, ballet, flamenco, and theatrical productions. Its intimate size (about 1,200 seats) ensures excellent acoustics and sightlines. The building's neoclassical facade is adorned with statues of Cervantes and Shakespeare. Visitors can attend a performance or join a guided tour to see the lavish interiors, including the grand foyer and the royal box.
