Food really was outstanding. Each course was an explosion of flavors. Managed to get a last minute reservation for lunch and it was so worth it. They suggest to order 8-9 dishes but that’s too much, just stick to 6.
I rarely write negative reviews however for a Michelin restaurant I was not amazed by the food, while the portions are Michelin size, the taste is off, seems like too many ingredients are mixed together creating a feeling of being lost and not understanding what I’m eating. The shrimp was actually the only plate I really enjoyed. Everything else was kind of below expectations and downright personally didn’t taste too good. Especially the Ramen, being Italian I kind of felt insulted by the way the pasta was cooked. If it’s Ramen, don’t replace it with burnt spaghetti, please
This is the mid-priced restaurant of Dabiz Munoz, Madrid’s most famous chef du jour. Reservations are easy to make online but the place is a bit hard to find, located inside the El Corte Ingles Gourmet food hall. We did not opt for the tasting menu and instead ordered 8 a la carte dishes (the number recommended by our server). The menu had very good descriptions of each dish and but you still get amazed with the inventive ways each dish was presented. Taste-wise, not everything was amazing but most of them were. The dishes that stood out the most from what I remember were the doughnut starter, wontollini soup, pasta carbonara, pizza, txuleta, cocido and Thai mango shaved ice for dessert. Since the dishes are Asian-themed Spanish fusion, after a while though some of the dishes tasted the same. Servings are small but each dish is mostly good for two people so with 8 dishes, cost per person is roughly between 80 to 90 euros. Not bad versus the 450 euros you will pay per person for Munoz’s 3-star Diver XO.
Restaurant located in the Gourmet club of the bronze building of el corte ingles castellana, with bathrooms shared with the building and restaurants, not ideal at al. You can find a menu to taste or choose your plates, the most famous are resaca, korean bao, dumplings and chuleta vasca. The restaurant is nice for couples, special area, and the waiters are very kind. It has one michelin star and suggest ordering with time. Its a good starting point if you want to know the food of David MUñoz, Diverxo chef, top michelin restaurant ubicated in other location.
