A really lovely Sunday evening...the main two people attending us were Luis and Orion who were funny and delightful and also spoke English. We chose a bottle of Albarino and still water. The food was excellent, we were given a small Gazpacho and bread to start, we started the courses with the Crab bombs and crab Tacos...then we had Turbot and Cod and ended with an amazing Rice Pudding. Great coffee and Pedro Ximenez..Superb choice. Not cheap but delicious.
Everything is so good, especially meat and tiramisu 🥰 check the info about El Capricho , their meat supplier, the guy really takes care of his animals, they live long and happy life outside.
We ordered a beef well done. It was surfed rare. After returning it, they brought it back medium at best. And after that they cut the piece into three pieces and really burned it. For a steakhouse which claims to be top, just very poor. And the service was frankly not trained to handle criticism and shied away instead of apologizing and trying to handle the situation and so did the „chef the service“. I can really not recommend to go there.
We were really looking forward to visiting the restaurant since the last time we were here 4 years ago. Nice ambiance, good service but the food was a big disappointment. We ordered a shrimp carpaccio and hake for starters. The hake was actually an entree but I was in the mood for it and the other starters didn’t appeal to me. Both tasted a day or two old, particularly the hake. We ordered the “old cow” for our entree and it was priced at 95€ per kg. We were charged 115€ which means it was 2.67 lbs. The meat was flavorful but tough and so much waste. Very fatty plus the large bone. Probably about 1 lb of edible meat, at most 1.25 lbs. Nice section of wine but prices don’t match website. I was thinking of ordering Vega Sicilia Valbuena which was 195€ on the website but was 245€ on the wine list. Won’t be going back.
