The Roman walls of Lugo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, form a 2.1-kilometer circuit around the historic center. Built in the 3rd century AD to defend the Roman town of Lucus Augusti, they remain remarkably intact. Visitors can walk along the top of the walls, which are up to 10 meters high, passing 71 towers and ten gates. The walk offers panoramic views over the old town and surrounding areas, blending ancient history with modern urban life.
