The Monastery of Sant Daniel is a serene Romanesque convent nestled in a lush valley just outside Girona's city center. Founded in the 11th century, it has been home to a community of Benedictine nuns for centuries. The church features a beautiful Romanesque nave and a striking bell tower, while the cloister, built in the 12th-13th centuries, is a highlight with its graceful arches and tranquil garden. Visitors can also see the chapter house and the nuns' choir. The monastery's location offers lovely views of the surrounding hills and the Galligants River. It remains an active convent, so parts of the monastery are private, but the church and cloister are open to the public. The peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect retreat from the city's bustle.
