Tucked inside the Museum of the Asturian People complex, the International Bagpipe Museum is a unique institution dedicated to the history and diversity of bagpipes. The collection spans over 200 instruments from more than 30 countries, ranging from the familiar Scottish Great Highland bagpipe to lesser-known varieties like the Bulgarian gaida and the Indian been. The exhibits are arranged thematically, exploring the bagpipe's construction, regional variations, and its role in folk music and rituals. Interactive displays allow visitors to hear the distinct sounds of different bagpipes, and a section on the Asturian gaita highlights its importance in local festivals and identity. The museum also features a small concert space where live performances are occasionally held.
