El Musel is the commercial and industrial port of Gijón, one of the busiest in northern Spain. Stretching along the coast west of the city center, it handles cargo ranging from coal and steel to container goods. Despite its industrial nature, the port offers surprising scenic beauty, with massive ships, towering cranes, and the dramatic backdrop of the Cantabrian Sea. Visitors can walk along the breakwater to get close to the action or enjoy views from the nearby Cerro de Santa Catalina. The port area also features a marina, a few seafood restaurants, and the old lighthouse. It's a fascinating spot for those interested in maritime trade and industrial landscapes.
Don't miss
