The Puerta del Puente is a monumental Renaissance arch built in the 16th century at the northern end of the Roman bridge (Puente Romano) in Cordoba. It replaced an earlier Islamic gate and was designed by architect Hernán Ruiz III. The arch features classical elements such as Doric columns, a central niche with a statue of the Archangel Raphael (Cordoba's patron saint), and the coat of arms of King Philip II. Today, it serves as a grand entrance to the historic center and offers a photogenic view of the bridge and the Guadalquivir River. Visitors can walk through the arch and admire its detailed stonework. The arch is especially striking at sunset when the golden light illuminates the stone.
