The Christ of the Lanterns (Cristo de los Faroles) is one of Cordoba's most evocative religious monuments, located in the small Plaza de Capuchinos. This life-sized crucifix, carved in the 18th century, is mounted on a whitewashed wall and illuminated by eight wrought-iron lanterns that create a dramatic play of light and shadow, especially at night. The figure of Christ is depicted with a serene expression, and the surrounding silence of the plaza adds to the contemplative atmosphere. Visitors often pause here to reflect or pray, and the site is a popular spot for both pilgrims and photographers. The plaza itself is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path gem, with traditional Andalusian architecture and a peaceful ambiance.
