Teatro Arriaga, named after the Basque composer Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, is a stunning neo-baroque theater on the banks of the Nervión River. Since its opening in 1890, it has been a cultural cornerstone, hosting opera, zarzuela, ballet, concerts, and drama. The lavish interior features a horseshoe-shaped auditorium with plush red seats, gilded moldings, and a magnificent painted ceiling. Even without a ticket, you can join a guided tour to admire the architecture. The theater's location in the heart of Bilbao makes it an ideal evening destination, with nearby restaurants and bars.
