The Baekje Historic Areas in Gongju are a UNESCO World Heritage cluster that includes Gongsanseong Fortress, the Songsan-ri royal tombs, and the ancient temple site of Jeongnimsa. This area was the capital of Baekje from 475 to 538 CE. Visitors can explore the fortress walls, descend into the Tomb of King Muryeong, and see the five-story stone pagoda at Jeongnimsa. The sites are linked by walking paths and offer a deep dive into Baekje's architecture, burial customs, and Buddhist heritage.
