The National Museum of Somalia, located in the former presidential palace grounds, reopened in 2014 after years of closure due to conflict. Its collections include prehistoric tools, ancient pottery, and artifacts from the medieval Ajuran and Adal sultanates. Ethnographic displays feature traditional Somali clothing, jewelry, and nomadic household items. The museum also exhibits remnants from the colonial era and the civil war.
