The Basilica of Our Mother of Mercy is a Baroque basilica and a significant pilgrimage destination in Maribor. Built in the 18th century, it houses a revered painting of the Virgin Mary, said to have miraculous powers. The interior is richly decorated with stucco work, frescoes, and a grand altar. Pilgrims come from across Slovenia, especially during the Feast of the Assumption. Visitors can light candles, pray, or simply admire the artistry. The basilica's twin towers dominate the skyline, and the peaceful square in front invites contemplation.
