Vintgar Gorge is a breathtaking natural wonder located just 4 km northwest of Bled, formed by the Radovna River cutting through a narrow limestone canyon. Visitors follow a 1.6 km network of wooden walkways and bridges that hug the cliffside, passing over rapids, deep emerald pools, and several waterfalls, culminating in the impressive 13-meter Šum Waterfall. The gorge is at its most spectacular in spring and early summer when snowmelt swells the river, creating a thunderous roar. The walk is easy and family-friendly, with the sound of rushing water and the cool mist providing a refreshing escape on warm days.

Don't miss

  • Walking the entire 1.6 km wooden walkway, ending at the 13-meter Šum Waterfall
  • Photographing the turquoise pools and dramatic rock formations carved by the river
  • Spotting trout in the crystal-clear water and enjoying the cool, misty air
