Belgrade Fortress is a monumental complex that has guarded the city for over 2,000 years, perched on a ridge above the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Visitors can explore ancient Roman ruins, medieval towers, and Ottoman fortifications while walking along the ramparts. The fortress houses several museums, including the Military Museum, and provides stunning viewpoints over the rivers and New Belgrade. It's a place where layers of history are visible in the stonework, and the expansive grounds invite leisurely exploration.
