The Santuario della Beata Vergine della Consolazione, also called the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Consolation, is a modern Catholic church located in Borgo Maggiore. Designed by architect Giovanni Michelucci and completed in 1967, its unconventional form, a sweeping concrete roof and dramatic interior space, sets it apart from traditional sanctuaries. The sanctuary is a place of pilgrimage and quiet reflection, with a simple altar and beautiful stained glass that filters light. Its hilltop position offers peaceful views over the surrounding landscape.

Don't miss
