The Sungir Museum preserves and exhibits finds from one of the most important Upper Paleolithic sites in Europe, discovered in the 1950s near Vladimir. The star attractions are the elaborate burials of an adult male and two children, adorned with thousands of mammoth ivory beads, spears, and pendants.
