The Golden Gate of Vladimir is a rare surviving example of a medieval Russian city gate, built in 1158 under Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky. Originally part of the city's fortifications, it served as both a triumphal arch and a defensive tower. Today, it houses a military history museum with exhibits on the Mongol invasion and medieval weaponry. Visitors can climb to the top for views of the city and imagine the gate's role in Vladimir's golden age.
