Alba Iulia Fortress is a massive star-shaped Vauban fortress constructed between 1715 and 1738. Visitors enter through grand gates and walk along wide stone ramparts, exploring bastions, museums, and restored military buildings. The fortress encloses the city's historic core, including the Roman Catholic cathedral and the Union Hall. Its symmetrical design and well-preserved fortifications make it a standout example of 18th-century military architecture.
