Cabo Carvoeiro is a windswept headland jutting into the Atlantic, marking the westernmost point of mainland Portugal's Silver Coast. The landscape is characterized by dramatic limestone cliffs sculpted by wind and waves, with striking rock formations like the 'Navio' (ship) and 'Cão' (dog). A 19th-century lighthouse, Farol do Cabo Carvoeiro, stands sentinel, guiding ships along this treacherous coast. Visitors can walk along the cliff-edge paths, taking in panoramic views of the ocean and the Berlengas Islands offshore. The area is also a popular spot for birdwatching, especially for seabirds like gulls and cormorants.
