The Menhir of Bulhoa is a striking 4-meter-high standing stone, or menhir, erected during the Chalcolithic period. Carved from local granite, it stands alone in a rural field near Monsaraz, its phallic shape a common symbol of fertility in prehistoric cultures. Visitors can approach the stone and examine its smooth surface, which may have once held engravings now weathered away. The menhir is part of a broader megalithic landscape that includes dolmens and other standing stones, reflecting the region's rich prehistoric heritage. Its solitary presence against the Alentejo sky makes it a compelling sight.
