Świnica, standing at 2,301 meters, is a iconic mountain on the Polish-Slovak border in the Tatra National Park. The hike to its summit is strenuous, involving steep sections and some exposed ridges, but rewards with breathtaking 360-degree views of the High Tatras, including Morskie Oko and the Slovak peaks. The summit is a narrow ridge with a metal cross, often crowded in summer. Many hikers combine it with a traverse to Zawrat Pass for a full-day alpine adventure. The trail is marked and requires good fitness and sure-footedness.

Don't miss

  • Stand on the summit cross for panoramic views stretching into Poland and Slovakia.
  • Hike the exposed ridge from Zawrat Pass, a classic Tatra traverse.
  • Spot marmots and chamois along the rocky trails.
