Kościeliska Valley is one of the most popular and accessible valleys in the Tatra National Park, offering a gentle introduction to the Tatra landscape. Visitors walk along a wide gravel path that follows the Kościeliski Potok stream, passing through dense spruce forests and open meadows with views of limestone cliffs. The valley is dotted with several caves, including the Mroźna Cave, which is open to the public. In spring and summer, the valley floor is carpeted with wildflowers, and the sound of cowbells from grazing sheep adds to the pastoral atmosphere. The trail is suitable for families and leads to the Hala Ornak mountain hut, a good turnaround point.

Don't miss

  • Walk through the narrow limestone gorge called Kraków Gorge, with towering rock walls on both sides.
  • Visit the illuminated Mroźna Cave, a 500-meter-long cave with stalactites and ice formations.
  • Hike to the Hala Ornak mountain hut for traditional Polish food and views of the surrounding peaks.
