Huaca del Dragón, also called Huaca Arco Iris (Rainbow Pyramid), is a pre-Columbian adobe pyramid located in the city of Trujillo. Built by the Chimú culture around 1100-1400 AD, the pyramid is famous for its well-preserved friezes depicting rainbows, dragons, and anthropomorphic figures. The structure consists of a stepped platform with ramps and a ceremonial courtyard. Visitors can walk around the base and climb to the top for views of the surrounding urban landscape. The site is less crowded than other archaeological attractions, offering a more intimate experience. The name 'Dragon' comes from the rainbow-serpent motif that appears in the murals.
