Casa Urquiaga, also known as the Urquiaga House, is a beautifully preserved neoclassical colonial mansion located on Trujillo's main square. Built in the 18th century, it now serves as the regional headquarters of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru and a museum. Visitors can explore rooms furnished with period pieces, including a grand salon with ornate mirrors and chandeliers. The museum's collection spans pre-Inca pottery and textiles, colonial religious art, and republican-era furniture and coins. Highlights include a golden chalice and a portrait of Simón Bolívar, who once stayed here. The courtyard, with its Moorish-inspired tiles and central fountain, offers a tranquil escape. The building's elegant facade, with its wrought-iron balconies and carved wooden doors, exemplifies Trujillo's aristocratic past.
