Stiftsgården is the official royal residence in Trondheim and an architectural marvel as one of the largest wooden buildings in Scandinavia. Built in the 18th century, this neoclassical mansion features a distinctive yellow wooden facade with white trim, spanning 140 rooms. Visitors can tour the interior during guided visits, which showcase elegant period furnishings, ornate stucco ceilings, and grand reception halls used for royal events. The building also houses the Royal Guard and is used for official functions when the royal family is in town.
