Monjo is a small village situated at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It serves as the primary registration point for trekkers entering the park, making it a bustling yet charming stop. Surrounded by lush pine forests and terraced fields, Monjo offers a glimpse of traditional Sherpa life with its stone houses and mani walls. Trekkers typically pause here to complete park permits, visit the small visitor center, and enjoy the tranquil riverside setting before ascending toward Namche Bazaar.
