Tenzing-Hillary Airport, often called Lukla Airport, is one of the world's most dramatic airstrips, perched on a hillside at 2,860 meters. Named after Everest's first climbers, it serves as the primary gateway for trekkers heading to Everest Base Camp. The short, sloping runway ends at a stone wall, and flights offer stunning views of snow-capped peaks. Visitors arriving here feel an immediate sense of adventure as they step onto the tarmac surrounded by towering mountains.
