Charumati Stupa is a peaceful Buddhist monument located in the Chabahil area of Kathmandu. According to tradition, it was built by Charumati, the daughter of Indian Emperor Ashoka, in the 3rd century BCE. The stupa features a classic dome structure with a harmika and spire, surrounded by prayer wheels and small shrines. Visitors can walk around the base, spin the prayer wheels, and observe local devotees performing rituals. The site exudes a calm, meditative atmosphere, contrasting with the busy streets nearby. It is a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhists and a quiet spot for reflection.
