Sfatul Țării Palace, built in the early 20th century, is a symbol of Moldova's path to independence. It was here that the Sfatul Țării (Council of the Country) proclaimed the independence of the Moldavian Democratic Republic in 1917. The building's elegant neoclassical facade and grand interiors reflect its political importance. Today, it houses a museum dedicated to the independence movement and hosts cultural events. Visitors can tour the historic chambers and see original documents and artifacts from the era.
