Tonotan Guns and Caves are remnants of Japanese fortifications built during World War II on Weno Island. The site includes large coastal artillery guns positioned to defend Chuuk Lagoon, along with a network of tunnels and bunkers carved into the hillside. Visitors can walk through the caves, see the gun emplacements up close, and gain insight into the strategic importance of Chuuk during the Pacific War. The area is overgrown with tropical vegetation, adding a sense of discovery and history.
