The Mauritius Postal Museum occupies a historic colonial building near the General Post Office in Port Louis. It chronicles the development of postal services on the island, from the first mail ships to modern philately. Exhibits include vintage post boxes, postal uniforms, and a reconstruction of an old post office counter. The highlight is a display of rare Mauritian stamps, including reproductions of the Blue Penny and Red Penny. Visitors can see how letters were sorted and franked in the 19th century, and learn about the role of the postal service in connecting Mauritius to the world.
