Le Pouce, meaning 'the thumb', is a distinctive mountain that rises behind Port Louis, its summit shaped like a thumb. The hike to the top takes about 1-2 hours and rewards climbers with panoramic vistas of the capital, the harbor, and the northern coastline. The trail winds through lush vegetation and offers a moderate challenge, making it a favorite among locals and visitors seeking outdoor adventure without a full-day commitment. At the summit, you can see the Moka Range and, on clear days, the distant peaks of Pieter Both and other mountains.

Don't miss

  • Panoramic view of Port Louis and the harbor from the summit
  • Distinctive thumb-shaped rock formation at the top
