The White Ernz (Weisse Iernz in Luxembourgish) is a picturesque river and valley that winds through the heart of Luxembourg's Müllerthal region, often called 'Little Switzerland' for its rocky landscapes and dense woodlands. The valley is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with well-marked hiking trails that lead past moss-covered boulders, babbling brooks, and hidden waterfalls. Cyclists can explore quiet country roads and dedicated bike paths, while kayakers can paddle along the gentle currents of the river in spring and early summer. The White Ernz is less crowded than the nearby Black Ernz, offering a more tranquil escape. Along the way, you'll find charming villages, historic mills, and plenty of spots for a picnic. The valley is particularly beautiful in autumn when the foliage turns vibrant shades of gold and red.

Don't miss

  • Hike the Müllerthal Trail sections along the White Ernz
  • Cycle the valley's scenic bike routes
  • Kayak or canoe on the river (seasonal)
  • Visit the Schiessentümpel waterfall nearby
  • Explore the historic mills and villages
