The Bock is a rocky promontory that juts out into the Alzette valley, forming the natural foundation of Luxembourg City's oldest fortifications. Visitors can walk along the top of the cliff for sweeping views of the Grund district and the river below. The site also includes the entrance to the famous casemates – a labyrinth of underground tunnels carved into the rock. What makes the Bock distinctive is its role as the birthplace of Luxembourg City: Count Siegfried built his castle here in 963, sparking the city's development. Today, you'll see remnants of the medieval fortress, interpretive panels, and a peaceful park setting. It's a must-visit for history buffs and photographers alike.
