Sahel Alma is a paleontological site located in a quarry near Jounieh, famous for its well-preserved marine fossils dating to the Late Cretaceous period (about 85 million years ago). The site has yielded a diverse array of fish, crustaceans, and other marine life, many with soft tissue impressions. A small on-site museum displays a selection of these fossils, offering visitors a glimpse into the ancient sea that once covered the region. It is a niche attraction for fossil enthusiasts and those interested in Lebanon's geological history.
