Jeita is a small village in the Keserwan District, best known as the access point for the spectacular Jeita Grotto, a two-level limestone cave system with impressive stalactites and an underground river. Visitors typically stop here before or after their cave tour, enjoying the village's peaceful atmosphere and sampling Lebanese cuisine at local eateries. The village itself offers little beyond its role as a gateway, but its location in the scenic valley makes it a pleasant starting point for exploring the grotto.

Don't miss

  • Visit the Jeita Grotto, one of the longest cave networks in the Middle East.
  • Take a boat ride on the subterranean river in the lower cave.
  • Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant overlooking the Nahr al-Kalb valley.
